Joanne & Stephen, July 28, 2007

How do you know it's a hot day in Edmonton? When people from Texas are saying "Dang it's hot here." On Saturday we had the good fortune to shoot Joanne & Stephen's wedding. When I get the opportunity to meet people like Joanne & Stephen I realize how much I love my job...they are amazing people with amazing families and friends and it makes our job so easy. Stephen is from Texas...we shot their engagement pictures back in the winter of 2006, Stephen was a real trooper coming from Texas and having his pictures taken during a crisp Canadian winter day. Well on their wedding day we had Texas like weather so I'm sure Stephen and the many guests who came from warmer climates felt right at home. Many of the bridal party originated from Texas and they brought their Long Horn pride with them. Joanne and Stephen will be leaving next week to start their lives together in Texas. We had the opportunity to take some pictures with Joanne and Stephen at her old place of employment...the beautiful Hotel MacDonald. Joanne even took the opportunity to check in a guest. Misty & Adam Wedding

What do you get when you have a great couple in love, amazing family & friends, a classic car and a surprise visit from Elvis? A great day with Misty and Adam! We had so much fun with Misty & Adam yesterday. The weather was HOT!!! and in spite of the +34 temperatures everybody had a great time. The bridal party was awesome and allowed us to take them to various locations throughout the day to take pictures in the searing heat...with no complaining. Misty's dad surprised her by showing up with a classic 56 Crown Victoria to take her to the church. He worked very hard to get the car ready for the big day and totally surprised Misty. He was also gracious enough to allow us to borrow the car for some great shots with the bridal party. Misty and Adam did a fantastic job decorating for the reception, it was one of the best decorating jobs we've ever come across and the cake...very cool. At the reception Misty had a surprise visit by Elvis ( She's a big fan ) and even decided to join him on stage for a couple of sets. The party was amazing and we were able to capture the guests letting loose and celebrating on the dance floor. Thanks again Misty and Adam for allowing us to be part of your day. This past weekend we had the privilege of capturing Jerilyn & Rob's Big Day. What a BLAST!!! We had so much fun with Jerilyn & Rob and their Wedding Party. The whole day was amazing and the Party...Wow! Here are a few sneak pictures from the day.

Top Ten Winning Image!

Good News! One of my images placed in the top ten (3rd place) for an international wedding photography competition hosted by the WPJA. The image was submitted under the "ceremony" category, it was taken in Jasper, Alberta at Pyramid Lake Resort.

Year in review

The plan was to have my new website and blog up and running in January. Life happens and here we are in July and it's finally happening. We have had a great year so far, starting with a destination wedding in January and it's been non-stop since then. We have taken thousands of pictures during the last few months, here are a few.
